Neighbor is concerned about the liquor license application for Whistle Stop Depot. There is also a concern about whether everyone within a certain number of feet from the location were notified about when it would be decided by Mayor and Council. Someone will contact Ward 1 office for more details. It is too late to write letters for or against the license, but you can show up at the Mayor and Council meeting.
Obituary was passed around about Cress Lander.
Neighbor Elliott Lax passed away beginning of February. Information about a service for the public to be announced soon.

Joan from Barrio Viejo talked about her interactions with Sister Jose (she lived right around the corner from their current location until recently). In the winter they are open at night for 12 women sleeping on cots. It is friendly and efficient, she hasn’t heard noise and has no concerns. There is a bit of trash in the morning when women are waiting for the place to open.
Questions we talked about – what happens at 2 p.m. when it closes, where will the women go?
Perhaps we can meet again with folks from Sister Jose with a list of ideas that would help the neighborhood – making sure trash is picked up, having women work on the traffic circles/chicanes/garden, etc.
Downtown Links discussion – Ash Alley will be truncated as we have requested; parking issues along 5th St. will need to be discussed once project is finished – give priority to businesses along 5th St.; RTA will not pay for a restroom on the plaza, but they are leaving space for a toilet and shed with a plan to look for alternate ways to pay for it; 9th Ave pork chop section (at Church) will have two places for bikes to cut through; 5th Ave will continue to be right turn in and out only; there is only bike/ped access at the intersection of 7th St/7th Ave to cross the train tracks; they need to work on wayfinding
