Natasha: The Idea School is leaving the Dunbar Pavillion (probably being closed entirely). It was heard that the playground equipment might be removed by the Dunbar Coalition. Natasha and Karen reached out to the Dunbar Coalition. The Coalition weren't aware who funded the equipment, but neighbors recollection is that it was probably a federal grant (Community Development Block Grant). They are raising the topic in case anyone was concerned about the equipment being removed and wanted to take action. The equipment was possibly funded through a public grant and if so, maybe it should not be removed, or moved to a different location. Karen made the ask of Aliyah if they could look into how the equipment was funded.
Discussion
Vote on override of 7-day notice (Concern that the Dunbar Coalition could move quickly on the issue below). Vote Passed 7-0, Unanimously approved.
Karen made a motion that, pending discussion with Dunbar Coalition, the neighborhood would write a letter opposing and voicing our dismay at the potential removal of playground equipment by the basketball courts. Passed 7-0, Unanimously approved.
Reports from the field
- Downtown Links - It looked like the road was open today, 1 lane in each direction. They are still waiting on the railroad to finish the crossing on 5th and the pedestrian crossing south of the pedestrian overpass, targeting end of June. The City is guessing the quiet zone process could be 6-12 months.
- 1st St and 11th Ave Housing development - No updates

- WAMO (Warehouse Arts Management Organization) - No Updates
- Quiet Zone Celebration - See updates in Downtown Links.
For the good of the cause/future topics
